Standard parts of mold gating system

1. Locating ring

The locating ring is fitted with the centering hole in the middle of the fixed plate of the injection molding machine, its function is to align the main runner with the nozzle and the machine barrel.

Notes:

The locating ring and the centering hole on the fixed plate of the injection molding machine should be fitted with a relatively loose clearance.

For small molds, the length of the fit between the locating ring and the hole can be 8-10mm, for large molds, it can be taken as 10-15mm.

2. Gating bushing

The gating busing is the main runner of the gating system, which is the first channel for the molten plastic in the barrel to enter the injection mold, it needs to ensure that there is no overflow of raw material during injection, and at the same time, the solidified material in the main runner is easy to remove.

There are many forms of injection molding gating bushings, which can be selected according to the structure of the mold. According to the different gating systems, gate bushings can be divided into two-plate molds and three-plate molds.
